Last week, Governor Cuomo announced that he will not be withholding 20% from school districts in September. This is a positive development, but we aren't out of the woods yet! We need to keep the pressure up to avoid cuts down the line.
New York State's public schools are still under attack — we do not know yet if the state plans to withhold money from schools in October. Join us Wednesday, September 23rd from 4:30-5 PM for a rapid response action.
In order to fully fund our public schools, we need a reliable revenue source. Senator Robert Jackson has introduced a revenue bill that would raise billions for public schools. As of today, NOT ONE LONG ISLAND SENATOR IS SIGNED ON TO THIS BILL!
