TAKE ACTION

The Amazon rainforest is on fire. Will you sign the petition Friend of Wildlife?
[[link removed]]John,
According to Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (INPE), the country
has experienced over 93,000 fires this year, with more than half of them burning
in the Amazon. Millions of acres have been affected by these fires, which
continue to threaten wildlife from jaguars deep in the forest to river otters
along tropical rivers. There is little question the fires were deliberately set
by humans to make way for ranching and agriculture.
Commercial agriculture is at the root of the fires raging today and the largest
driver of deforestation in the Amazon. With American companies sourcing thousands of products from Brazil that make
their way to the stores where you and I shop, we are all involved!
Please act now to eliminate deforestation and help prevent more fires of this
magnitude by demanding that American companies only purchase products that will
not contribute to the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.

I WILL STAND UP FOR THE AMAZON
[[link removed]]
Your voice is desperately needed to convince companies that source products from
Brazil to help protect wildlife by eliminating deforestation and preventing
future fires. The Brazilian government won’t listen to our calls for conservation, but the
companies who buy their country’s products have the power to make them listen.
If consumers and companies demand sustainability, they will pay attention.
Sign this petition calling on companies to make a zero-deforestation commitment
now, rid deforestation from their supply chains and insist that Brazilian
agribusiness stop burning and converting natural forests to agriculture.

The Amazon is the largest tropical rainforest on Earth, and ongoing
deforestation is weakening its power to mitigate climate change. It is also home
to nearly 10% of all known wildlife species in the world. Native Amazonian
species are not adapted to cope with fires of this magnitude.
Please, join our fight against deforestation and show companies the power of
consumers.

Thank you for demanding that companies value the rainforest and all its
inhabitants.
Sincerely,
