My Vote this Week

The latest round of Brexit votes this week has caught the attention of many. Read why I voted the way I did here ([link removed]) .

Question to the Prime Minister

I sought, and received, an assurance from Boris Johnson that Conservative MPs who refuse to back a deal will face the same consequences as those who were judged to have delayed it. We should not be picking on one side of the divide. Watch his answer here ([link removed]) .

ATM Returns to Battle

Great news that Battle has been promised a free-to-use 24/7 cashpoint for the High Street. Read more here ([link removed]) .

Delivering ATMs to our High Streets

Whilst Battle will get its fix, I urged the Government to deliver the legislation I introduced to protect similar towns across the UK. Watch here ([link removed]) .

Sussex Wine

I’m a big supporter of our local wineries and visited Alice and Paul at Beacon Down with my neighbour Nus Ghani MP. I’ve written to our district councils so we have flexibility in planning and licensing rules.

Working in Burwash

After spending a day knocking on doors in Burwash, I met with the Parish, District and County Councillor team to discuss the challenges of development, traffic and road safety.

Public Spending Increases for East Sussex

I welcomed extra money for local government, social care and education. These are areas I have been campaigning for and will help those who support our community. Watch here ([link removed]) as I ask the Chancellor to pay tribute to those in the constituency who campaigned for this extra money.

Transport Select Committee Pavement Parking Report

We’ve had two meetings this week and our parking report will land next week. I have ensured Bexhill gets some focus and help to deliver traffic wardens by 2020. I also found time to ask in the Chamber why HS2 is now so costly. Watch here ([link removed]) .

Policing our Streets

I spent a day with Sussex Police on the beat in Bexhill, Battle and across our villages. Read more here ([link removed]) about how the police are cracking down on crime.

Working in Pevensey, Westham and Stone Cross

A day on the doorsteps, with the District and County Councillors, visiting businesses and residents. Here I am with the Beachlands Residents Association, showcasing their fantastic community clean-up.

If you would like to arrange an appointment to see me at an advice surgery, please email: [email protected] or call 01424 736861
