One thing is abundantly clear, John: Louis DeJoy cannot be trusted. Ever since Trump installed him as Postmaster General, he’s been hard at work running the Post Office into the ground. Many Americans, including many members of my immediate family, have made their livelihoods, raised families, purchased homes, and retired securely by working long hours, often holidays, over many years for the U.S. Postal Service. It is an honorable profession that has been dishonored by Louis DeJoy at the direction of Donald Trump. USPS delivery times have slowed to a crawl, overtime hours for mail carriers have been cut, and mailboxes and mail-sorting machines from battleground states across the country have been decommissioned — all ahead of the election. We’re working around the clock to fight this kind of voter suppression and undo the damage DeJoy has already done. But now that his criminal activity and blatant corruption has come to light, it’s clear he has no respect for the rule of law or our institutions. We must make sure that DeJoy is no longer able to break the law or sabotage the USPS -- disenfranchising voters, and compromising democracy, perhaps our country’s most sacred principle. That’s why we need a nationwide outcry demanding his resignation.
The stakes are too high here. We can’t let a criminal continue to do Trump’s bidding while holding the keys to one of our nation's most essential institutions. —Yvette Yvette Simpson, CEO ![]() |
