Protests over racial injustice and police brutality have been gripping cities across the country for months, demanding justice and police reform. And yet, our federal government has failed to act, letting two reform bills die.
Over 85% of Americans support police reform, including requiring body cameras, establishing a national use of force standard, and requiring officers to report misconduct. Are you part of this majority, friend?
While the federal government is failing to meet the moment, several local governments have listened to the protesters and taken action in passing legislation. In Louisville, Kentucky, Breonna’s Law passed banning “no-knock” search warrants. New York is disbanding its plainclothes unit. Albuquerque is dispatching trained professionals to respond to calls related to homelessness and addiction.
Sweeping police reform is essential in ending police brutality and discriminatory practices. We must demand Congress act on this issue and pass meaningful legislation.
Friend, are you with us in supporting police reform?
Thank you for your support,
The Southern Strategy
