Tryon Distributing serves community by hosting blood drive

Tryon Distributing, in partnership with OneBlood, hosted their fourth blood drive in their Charlotte, N.C., warehouse on Monday. “Partnering with OneBlood was especially rewarding because it means the blood we donated will go directly to helping people in our local community,” said Vice President of Business Development Ed Johnston. As a bonus, employees who donated blood will have their donations tested by OneBlood for the COVID-19 antibody.

Yuengling and Molson Coors form joint venture

D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc. and Molson Coors Beverage Company have formed a joint venture that promises the expansion of Yuengling beer to the West Coast. Yuengling brands are expected to reach 25 states outside the current distribution territory by the latter half of 2021. Under the new deal, Yuengling will operate separately from its joint venture and remain a family-owned business.

Make the best of Oktoberfest at home

The cancellation of Oktoberfest in Germany won’t stop people from celebrating the annual event. There are many ways to make the most of the festival from inside your own quarantine bubble. Now, Samuel Adams has teamed up with Auntie Anne’s in the Oktoberfest spirit. Together, the companies have released a limited edition “Oktoberfest at Home Kit” so folks anywhere can enjoy the festival staples: beer and pretzels.

Pepsi to launch sleep-aid drink, Driftwell

An internal pitch competition in 2019 spawned the idea for one of PepsiCo’s newest beverages: Driftwell. The beverage aims to help consumers relax and fall asleep, which is timely considering many people are reporting sleep troubes amidst the continuing spread of COVID-19. Shoppers will start to find Driftwell on shelves in the first quarter of 2021.
