Dear John,

Last night, we came together to gain tools and insight to mobilize our communities and build a powerful coalition of poor and low-income people who are committed to not only band together to vote for officials who embrace the Jubilee platform to heal and transform America, but hold them accountable in implementing those policies in the months and years to come.

Today at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT, along with our friends at the AFL-CIO, we mark the 57th anniversary of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama with a candlelight vigil and ten-point pledge for social, racial and economic justice.

This is a somber reminder of the importance of committing to the work to ensure our voices are heard and our issues addressed. We invite you to join us in this commitment through the following actions:

  1. Sign the 10-Point Commitment to Social, Racial and Economic Justice pledge.
  2. Promote the anniversary event. It will be live streamed on poorpeoplescampaign.org/livestream at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT.
  3. Join the We Must Do M.O.R.E. Campaign to help Mobilize, Organize, Register and Educate people for a movement that votes. There are several trainings being offered in the next two weeks.

No evil is extinguished unless good people come together and act. We are calling everyone who has marched to challenge systemic racism to come together with poor and low-income people to push this nation toward a more perfect union.

Forward together, not one step back!

Rev. Dr. William Barber and Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis
