Are you a gardener? Know someone who is?

Or, maybe you aspire to start growing your own food.

Your garden can fight climate change!

Climate change is happening now; it is NOT a distant threat.

The climate crisis is a global issue that affects each and every one of us, and we must take action to help mitigate the dangers we are facing. While we know it can feel like an insurmountable obstacle, something as easy as planting a garden is one way to be part of the climate change solution—and it’s fun!

Conventional farming and gardening practices can degrade soils and release harmful greenhouse gases. It doesn’t have to be that way! Using regenerative practices like composting, ditching the chemicals, and planting perennials can help your garden become a positive player in the fight against climate change.

We’re calling for all Green America gardeners to join the Climate Victory Gardening movement. It’s easy to get started and chances are, you’re already using some climate-friendly practices in your yard and garden.

Not sure where to start? Our Climate Victory Gardening Toolkit explains the concept in-depth and gives guidance around building soil health, growing more nutrient-rich foods, and fighting climate change in your yard!

It’s free to register and comes with these benefits:

  1. Registration gives you access to educational webinars, e-newsletters, action alerts, and resources (like this expert column).
  2. Registration gets your garden on the map so you can share with others and explore nearby gardens for networking and learning possibilities.
  3. Registration gives you access to our very active Facebook group of gardeners for the planet. Here you can ask questions, network, share events, learn, and brag alongside like-minded gardeners.
  4. Registration gives you the opportunity to make a difference and be part an inspiring grassroots movement of people that care about a sustainable food system and livable planet.

We will randomly select one winner from all of the gardens registered between 12:01 a.m. ET on July 1, 2019 and midnight ET on July 31, 2019 to win a free organic cotton t-shirt featuring the Climate Victory Gardens logo. Registering your garden is free.

Every garden is as unique as the person who grows it! Get Inspired by other Climate Victory Gardeners and join the movement by registering your Climate Victory Garden.
