Welcome to another edition of FT Now! This week's hypocrite award goes
to Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Turns out, she likes SOME walls. In
New Hampshire, it was a big week for Dan Feltes, who not only became the
official Democratic nominee for governor, but was also endorsed by a
radical, leftwing group. Last but not least, the people of South Dakota
are reaping the rewards of Gov. Kristi Noem's leadership during the
COVID-19 pandemic. Read below for more!
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Builds Wall, Makes Michigan Taxpayers Pay For It
What Happened:
Apparently, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is getting some security
upgrades at her residence - among them being an 8-foot-tall wall. The
bill is being picked up by the taxpayers, of course.
Why You Should Care:
Whitmer, a Democrat, has repeatedly attacked the idea of President
Trump's border wall. In 2018, she famously campaigned by saying
"it's time we get back to building bridges, not walls." Embracing a
wall now seems more than a little hypocritical.
What Happens Next:
Governor Whitmer gets to rest easy behind the safety and security of her
wall.

Fire Fighters Back Sununu While Feltes Touts Endorsement from Extreme,
Anti-Police, Pro-Green New Deal Group
What Happened:
Dan Feltes officially became the Democratic nominee for governor in New
Hampshire this week, right before receiving an endorsement from the
far-left group NextGen New Hampshire. Republican Gov. Chris Sununu, on
the other hand, got the backing of The Professional Fire Fighters of New
Hampshire. Two very different candidates; two very different
endorsements.
Why You Should Care:
NextGen New Hampshire advocates for a radical agenda that includes
defunding police, and Green New Deal-style policies. That's definitely
not in line with New Hampshire voters.
What Happens Next:
Feltes struggles to convince the people of New Hampshire he's not
another extreme leftist. Good luck.

Kristi Noem Touts South Dakota's Economic Recovery After Refusing
Lockdowns
What Happened:
Republican Gov. Kristi Noem touted some good news for her state this
week: Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, South Dakota had the fewest
low-income job losses of any state in its region as of the end of June.
Why You Should Care:
As Gov. Noem pointed out earlier this month, "Here in South Dakota,
because we didn't shut down our state, the recovery story is far
stronger...These businesses are more than just storefronts - they're
people's livelihoods."
What Happens Next:
South Dakota continues to gain momentum on the economic front under the
leadership of Gov. Noem!
