Molly Ivins would always say that this isn't left vs right. It's top vs bottom. And she was never afraid to call out the policital status quo for marginalizing the middle and working class.

Officially, Molly was only at the Texas Observer from 1970 through 1976, but her irreverence still defines the Observer today. 

So I was absolutely thrilled to find myself on the cover of this month's Observer.

It is humbling and truly an honor -- and I'm doing my best to do Molly Ivins proud, by showing up everywhere, listening to everyone, and running without PACs or fancy insiders or corporations. Just people, all the way.

Running a 100% PAC-free campaign isn't the easy way to do this -- but if we're really going to get things done, we have to transform how we do politics in this country. If you can chip in a few bucks, please do.
