Dear John,
Last week, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) released its strategic plan for implementing the 2018 Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA).

If we work together to get this right, we can ensure more kids in foster care are safe; keep more kids safely with their parents rather than placing them in foster care; prevent the loss of federal funding for Texas; and reduce racial disparities and disproportionality in the CPS system.
As last week's federal court hearings on Texas foster care reminded us, reaching these goals is critically important for the safety of Texas kids.

In the coming weeks, we'll have further analysis of the path forward for Texas implementation of the FFPSA.
We look forward to working with you to get the job done for Texas kids!
