About our panel

This year’s keynote panel will invite attendees to imagine a more just and liberated society. We will hone in on clear steps for how we - as affordable housing practitioners and advocates - can actively create system-wide change and racial and economic justice. What is our role in this critical moment to create the future we’d like to see for all of our communities?

Angela Glover Blackwell: Angela is Founder in Residence at PolicyLink, the organization she started in 1999 to advance racial and economic equity for all. Prior to founding PolicyLink, Angela served as Senior Vice President at The Rockefeller Foundation. Angela is a leading voice in the movement for equity in America.

Vu Le: Vu is a speaker, the writer for NonprofitAF.com, and the former Executive Director of RVC, a nonprofit in Seattle that promotes social justice by developing leaders of color, strengthening organizations led by communities of color, and fostering collaboration between diverse communities.

Heather McGhee: Heather is an American political commentator, strategist, and former president of Demos, a non-profit progressive U.S. think tank. Heather designs and promotes solutions to inequality in America. Her work has influenced public policies and organizations to address inequality.

Fred Blackwell (Moderator): Fred is the CEO of the San Francisco Foundation, one of the largest community foundations in the country. Since joining in 2004, he has led it in a renewed commitment to racial and economic inclusion. Fred, an Oakland native, is a nationally recognized community leader with a longstanding career in the Bay Area.

We hope you will join us and our keynote speakers for this live, interactive conversation. The keynote will start at 11:00am PDT on Friday, September 25. Please note that this keynote will be offered to our live attendees only and will not be recorded. Be sure to register, mark your calendars, and get ready for a robust, engaging dialogue - ask questions, chat with others, and share your reactions live! Visit our conference webpage for more event details, including our full workshop slate.

We can not do this work without our generous sponsors.

Above all, thanks for fueling the housing justice movement as we create an equitable recovery prioritizing antiracist housing policies and solutions for our Black and Brown neighbors. Let’s create the new normal we want to see, together.

Thank you,
