Friend,
It is my hope that as millions of Americans across the country relax and enjoy Labor Day, that the significance of the day and, more importantly, the ongoing struggle for respect, dignity, and equality in work, is not lost.

Unions have long been a cornerstone of the working class in my District. Strong unions built a middle class that could rely on affordable healthcare, a secure retirement, safety in the workplace, and a living wage. But these protections were deliberately eroded by corporate interests, too often leaving workers and their families struggling today.

I’m honored to have the endorsement of the AFL-CIO, UFCW, CWA, and UAW as they fight to keep these protections alive, and I’ll be there to support them every step of the way in Congress. [[link removed]] Strong unions and the protections they provide us are crucial, especially now. We must safeguard essential workers through the pandemic, and we must defend fair, secure conditions and wages for workers in every trade.

I’ll be taking time during this weekend to enjoy the company of family, to rest, and to reflect on where we are as a country right now. And when the holiday is over, I’ll be back on trail, standing alongside working people and fighting to preserve what we’ve won and keep making the progress we so desperately need.

In Solidarity,
