Standard Sales Company develops free ‘Raider Rides’ program

Once Texas Tech’s Board of Regents approved the sale of beer and wine at home sporting games, The Standard Sales Company developed the Bud Light Raiders Ride Responsibly program. The beer distributor partnered with Lyft to provide free rides home from Texas Tech home football games.

HVH Transportation of Denver closes

Denver-based truckload carrier HVH Transportation Inc. closed its doors on Aug. 27 after a string of financial setbacks. The closure affected at least one driver hauling a load of beer from Denver to Laredo, Texas. Falling freight demand has caused hundreds of carriers to go out of business this year.
