We're nearing the home stretch! Next week, the State Board of Education will hear testimony and debate amendments for health education curriculum standards, including sex education. The votes this week will be critically important in deciding whether or not medically accurate sex education is made available to all Texas students. The SBOE is planning to limit testimony to 5 hours (compared to 13 hours of impassioned testimony in June) so it's more important
than ever that members hear from you, their constituents. We have all the information you need to engage on the Texas is Ready website, but check out the list below for some easy steps that you can take. Support sex education: - Take one minute and sign this petition in support of sex education in Texas.
- Email your State Board of Education Member and ask them to support sex education. Use our quick Advocacy Guide and our full Advocacy Toolkit for ideas on what to say. You can use this link to learn who your member is, and find their contact info here.
- Write a letter to the editor of your local paper sharing your views on the topic.

Onwards!
