Just wanted to forward yesterday's update about my opponent's first ad, this time with a few thoughts of my own. Because--rather than introduce himself to the voters of VA-05--he decided to launch his communication with a deceitful and inflammatory attack ad against me.
I get it, politics are politics. We're used to people resorting to distortions, misinformation, and even coded imagery. Shamefully, when Bob Good decided to talk to the voters of this district, he chose to stoke fear rather than offer facts. He shows images of burning buildings and makes false claims about my positions--all the while telling voters absolutely nothing about himself.
But these tactics in fact tell us everything we need to know about him: that he will prey on division and fear at a time when the people of VA-05 need a unifying leader who will fight for their healthcare, their jobs, and their retirement security.
So it's time to double down and beat Bob Good. He's spent nearly $11,000 since yesterday on his ad, and the campaign arm of the House GOP--the NRCC--is boosting him with an additional $33,000.
