This week, a bipartisan House Ethics Committee report detailed how Republican Congressman Chuck Edwards repeatedly crossed boundaries with two young women on his staff, showering them with unwanted attention, personal comments, gifts, and invitations that made them deeply uncomfortable.

Now he is ending his reelection campaign.

I refuse to stay quiet about this trend of men abusing their power on Capitol Hill to take advantage of staff. A congressional office is not a dating pool. People come there to work because they believe in public service, and no boss has the right to exploit that trust.

The people who work in these offices deserve so much better.

I've seen firsthand what dedicated public servants bring to this job—and they deserve leaders who respect them.

I could not be prouder of the team beside me. They care deeply about Vermont, they believe in the work we are doing together, and they pour their hearts into serving the folks who sent us to Congress.

Now, with just six days before my primary, they are giving everything they have to finish this race strong.
