When I first ran for Congress, I did it because I love my hometown and the people who make it special. I believed then — and I still believe now — that everyone deserves a seat at the table.

As your Congresswoman for the past four terms, I have made that belief my "why." It's what drives me every single day.

I ran because health care is a human right.

I ran because reproductive care is health care.

I ran because Americans should be able to afford to start a family, our seniors deserve to retire with dignity, and every single one of us should be free to pursue our American Dream.

I dream of an equal future for everybody. But as election day creeps closer, I’m constantly reminded of what this exact moment demands of us to protect that future.

The Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, and right now, my opponent wants to completely kill the Affordable Care Act.

The stakes couldn't be higher, which is why I’m spending every day in Congress trying to hold the line: on health care, on maternal health, and on making sure we show up this November.

It is a massive hill to climb, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. We can win this, but I can't do it alone.
