In order to create the change we're all fighting for, we need to support the longshot candidates. The ones who are rooted in their communities and have a vision for how to make them better. The candidates who still aren't seen as "electable" because they are women, come from diverse backgrounds, or are young -- the people who are not typically seen in positions of power.
I created HER Time to help elect these women.
I started as a longshot candidate -- at first, I was counted out because I was a 29-year-old bisexual woman running in a historically red district.
But we proved the naysayers wrong thanks to people like you who believed in me.
