My name is Tom Perriello, and I’m running for Congress to flip Virginia’s 5th District.
The Virginia Supreme Court failed its oath, but that is not going to stop Virginia voters from being heard. I am the only Democrat to have flipped Virginia’s Fifth in a generation, and we will do it again this year.
Why? Because we need leaders ready to face down authoritarianism and powerful special interests. That’s what I have spent my life doing, at home and abroad. Because we need leaders who will bring down costs by ending the war in the Middle East, the tariff wars crushing the middle class, and the war on our communities and civil liberties.
When I flipped this district before, not a single political pundit gave us a chance. Now, they all know that we can win this. And we must.
I voted to pass the Affordable Care Act, guaranteeing coverage for more than 32,000 people in my district. I was the first person to run for statewide office in Virginia to refuse corporate money.
Now, we have to go bolder, and go bigger – to be fearless in resistance and tireless in delivering results that matter.
I am going to Washington not just to make a Democratic majority, but to make sure it matters.
