I had to reach out because yesterday, Republicans magically found another $73 billion lying around.

Not for health care. Not for child care. Not to lower the cost of prescription drugs.

But $73 BILLION for a deeply unpopular war that doesn’t make us safer, that doesn’t have an exit plan, and that the American people NEVER asked for.

Of course I voted no.

But my vote alone is not enough. We need a House majority with the courage to stop writing blank checks for endless war and start investing in the people we were elected to serve.

I stand with the servicemembers who have been placed in harm’s way. They deserve leaders who respect them enough to provide clear objectives, an actual exit plan, and honest answers about where this war is headed.

Accountability is the bare minimum we owe the people being asked to risk everything. But instead, Republicans gave Trump another blank check.

And here is the part I can’t stop thinking about: We are just over 100 days away from the November elections.

That might sound like plenty of time. But it’s not.

Time flies. Ballots will be cast before we know it, and the work we do right now will determine whether Republicans keep control of the House or whether we finally take the gavel out of their hands.

Taking back the House means we can do more than cast protest votes and watch Republicans hand Donald Trump whatever he wants.
It means we can set the agenda.

And here is the truth: People are not going to give us power if they don't believe we have the courage to wield it. We have to show them that when voters put Democrats in charge, we will use that power to fight for working families, hold this administration accountable, and deliver real change for the people.

But none of that happens automatically. We have just over 100 days to organize, reach voters, support strong candidates, and build the majority that can finally put working people back at the center of every decision Congress makes.

So, game faces on. Sleeves rolled up. We gotta make damn sure the people writing blank checks for war lose the power to keep signing them.
