![]() The 2020 Republican Convention: Night Two
Here's what you missed yesterday!
Tuesday ![]() Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds—began by detailing the devastation left in the wake of the storm "derecho" as it tore through Iowa just two weeks ago. Kim explained the immediate support her state received from President Trump and the administration. She also highlighted his unparalleled support in 2019 when 100-year floods destroyed communities along the Missouri River and President Trump approved the request for aid in record time. Kim urged America to re-elect President Trump based on his ability to deliver outcomes.
"Whether it’s providing needed relief to farmers who were the target of China’s unfair trade practices, hammering out new free -- and fair -- trade deals, or fighting for workers and small businesses who were hit hard by COVID-19, we have a President and an Administration who gets things done." ![]() First Lady Melania Trump First lady Melania Trump began with her journey from Slovenia to the United States when she was 26 years old. She spoke of her hard work and determination to achieve the American dream. Melania then addressed two of the biggest political crises facing America at this time: the coronavirus and protests against racial injustice and police brutality. She expressed true sympathy for those who have lost their lives to the pandemic and those who are still suffering. She urged Americans to reflect on these difficult times and come together as a nation. Melania spoke directly to women, who are the anxious mothers that send their children out into this world during this unprecedented time. Melania made the case that her husband, President Trump, will work hard to improve the country in a second term.
"I encourage people to focus on our future while still learning from our past. We must remember that today we are all one community comprised of many races, religions and ethnicities. Our diverse and storied history is what makes our country strong, and yet we still have so much to learn from one another." Watch Melania's Full Address Below
