The Postal Service is an essential institution for our country, delivering services to millions and employing over 600,000 Americans — 23% of whom are Black and 43% of whom are women.
Make no mistake about it: attacks on the USPS are an economic, gender, and racial justice issue.
Despite this, President Trump and his new Postmaster General Louis Dejoy have continued their assault on mail service and Republicans in Congress refuse to take any action to protect this beloved institution.
We at The Southern Strategy are fed up with these attacks. We must protect the people’s postal service.
But what do you think, friend? Do you think the USPS is important and needs to be protected?
The USPS is a lifeline, delivering Social Security checks, medications, and letters home from US soldiers. The Postal Service is especially necessary to rural communities, seniors, and people with disabilities, as well as crucial to the millions of people who for years have used the mail to safely cast their ballots in elections.
However, Louis Dejoy has created an influx of delays and complaints in the name of ‘cost reduction efforts’, leading to vital medication delivered late, paychecks and rent payments delayed, and farmers receiving dead animals.
This demise of mail delivery cannot continue.
The withholding of funding for the Postal Service by the federal government puts our democracy and the health, employment, and financial security of countless Americans at risk.
Do you believe that we must protect the USPS?
Thank you for your support,
The Southern Strategy
