John — it’s been a minute. Let me catch you up fast: Patience opens Friday. Three performances. Gone by Sunday night. And yes — there will be hotdogs and popcorn!
If you saw the last email, you already know the premise — Gilbert & Sullivan’s 1881 operetta about aesthetic obsession, reworked into a world that looks a lot like 1995 Beverly Hills. Mall fashion. Air quotes around “deep.” A gaggle of girls in babydoll dresses sighing over a poet who mostly just smolders.
It’s funny. It feels like a Friday night out. And it sounds, genuinely, beautiful.

Two Very Different Rooms
Same show. Completely different feel.

Carl G. Brewer Community Center Gymnasium
A gym floor, folding chairs, hotdogs, popcorn, and a full cast singing their hearts out. No proscenium. No distance. Just the show, close enough to hear breath.
Sat Jun 27 · 5pm
Hillside Christian Church Gymnasium
Another gymnasium, this time on the east side. Same show, same energy, different room.
This is the last production of our season. After Sunday, we’re dark until fall. If you’ve been meaning to come to something, this is the one.
One more thing: use code COMMUNITY at checkout for BOGO tickets through Wednesday, June 24. Bring someone who’s never been to opera. That’s kind of the whole point.
