East to West RV Visit with Secretary Bernhardt, Rep. Walorski 

Last week, I visited East to West RV in Elkhart with Secretary of the Interior, David Bernhardt, and Representative Jackie Walorski. We toured the RV manufacturing company and discussed Indiana’s RV industry and its role in keeping the economy moving both during and after the pandemic. Additionally, we discussed the recently passed Great American Outdoors Act and how it will support thousands of Hoosier jobs in northern Indiana communities.

Visit to Pier 48 

On Wednesday, I stopped by Pier 48 in Indianapolis to see how they’re faring during the coronavirus pandemic. Local businesses and restaurants are the backbone of our communities and my RESTART Act will help provide needed assistance during this difficult time. With some reports showing that around 80,000 businesses have permanently closed between March 1 and July 25, it is critical that the federal government takes action. 

Justice for Peter Kassig 

Last week, Secretary Pompeo announced that the ISIS murderers who killed Hoosier Peter Kassig while on a humanitarian mission in Syria will finally stand trial in the US. Known as the Beatles, these terrorists are responsible for killing innocent people and it is important that we hold them accountable for their crimes. 

My Bipartisan Resolution Praising Historic Agreement Between Israel and UAE

Last week, I joined Senators Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), and Ben Cardin (D-Md.) to announce the introduction of a resolution praising the historic agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This resolution will congratulate the Governments and people of Israel and the United Arab Emirates on reaching this historic agreement, encourage other Arab nations to establish full relations with Israel with the vision of realizing full peace between Israel and all of its Arab neighbors, and reaffirm its strong support for a negotiated solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict resulting in two states—a democratic Jewish State of Israel and a viable, democratic Palestinian state—living side-by-side in peace, security, and mutual recognition.
