We have some great news!

Just days ago, the federal government approved a permit to allow over 700 sea lions to be permanently removed from the Columbia River over the next 5 years.

Thanks to decisive action and the support from our local communities and tribes, Southwest Washington has a fighting chance to save our salmon and steelhead fisheries.

Over the past few years, Jaime has personally championed bipartisan legislation aimed at protecting our local fishing tradition. In fact, the bill she authored and fought for was signed into law by the President in 2018.

This legislation provided the framework for removing the sea lion menace and restoring our precious fish to strong numbers we haven’t seen in years.

This is the type of decisive, local action that we need in Congress to protect our communities! Jaime identified a problem, crafted a bipartisan solution, and worked relentlessly to see it through.
