Republican endorsed candidates: Dr. Michael Goldstein US Congress 4th District & Justin Perry CT Senate 25th District
For more than twenty years, Connecticut’s 25th Senate District—representing Norwalk and Darien—has been represented by the same political leadership in Hartford. During that time, many residents have grown frustrated with rising costs of energy & taxes, increasing government mandates, and the feeling that their concerns are no longer being heard.
Now, Justin Perry is offering voters a different choice.
A scientist, entrepreneur, husband, and father (with another child on the way), Perry is challenging the status quo with a campaign rooted in fiscal responsibility, economic opportunity, local control, and the belief that government should serve communities—not direct them.
“I genuinely am running to preserve the things that make this community great,” Perry told supporters at his campaign kickoff. “What I’ve learned from so many residents is that for years they haven’t felt like they had a voice representing the things they care about.”
A Different Kind of Candidate
Unlike many politicians, Perry comes from a background in medicine, science and research rather than government. He credits that experience with teaching him persistence, humility, and the importance of listening.
“As a scientist, I spend a lot of my time getting told no,” Perry said. “If you get a five or ten percent success rate, you’re doing very well. You learn how to keep fighting because you believe in what you’re doing.”
That perseverance, he says, is exactly what Connecticut needs.
Perry has built his campaign around a simple promise: he will never abandon the principles and values that brought him into the race.
“Fiscal responsibility, economic liberty, and the importance of community are extremely important to me,” he said.
Fighting Connecticut’s Cost Crisis
One of Perry’s strongest criticisms is directed at the policies that have made Connecticut increasingly expensive for families and businesses.
From some of the highest energy costs in the nation to burdensome regulations and taxes, Perry argues that state government has made it harder for residents to succeed.
“Why would someone want to start a business here?” he asked. “Why would they want to invest here when energy costs are so high and the regulatory environment makes it so difficult?”
Having explored starting his own consulting business, Perry says he experienced firsthand the layers of permits, fees, and bureaucracy that discourage innovation and entrepreneurship.
“The small businesses in this district are incredible,” Perry said. “I’m in awe of what they accomplish despite all the obstacles the state puts in their way.”
His campaign calls for reducing unnecessary regulations, supporting job creators, and restoring Connecticut’s competitiveness.
Putting Communities Back in Charge
A recurring theme throughout Perry’s campaign is the importance of local decision-making.
He believes that too many policies are imposed from Hartford without sufficient input from the communities they affect.
Using the example of a community garden he passes regularly, Perry described how thriving communities depend on people who have invested years into building and maintaining them.
“The people best equipped to care for a garden are the people who have spent years tending it,” he said. “The same is true of our towns. The people who know what is best for Norwalk and Darien are the people who live here.”
While recognizing an important role for state government, Perry argues that Hartford should empower local communities rather than dictate to them.
More Than a Local Race
What Justin Perry is talking about is not unique to Norwalk and Darien. His concerns mirror what residents across Connecticut have been saying for years.
For decades, Connecticut has effectively operated under one-party control in Hartford. When taxes rise, when energy costs increase, when businesses leave, when housing becomes less affordable, and when families struggle to make ends meet, voters naturally ask who is accountable for the policies that produced those outcomes.
Perry believes accountability matters.
As a scientist, he approaches problems by examining evidence, challenging assumptions, and searching for solutions rather than excuses. He believes many of Connecticut’s challenges are not inevitable—they are the result of policy choices that can be changed.
In many ways, Perry represents a new generation of leadership. He brings an outsider’s perspective to Hartford and a willingness to challenge a system that many residents feel has become disconnected from the people it serves.
Republicans United Behind a New Generation of Leadership
One of the most encouraging aspects of Perry’s campaign kickoff was the strong show of support from Republican leaders and candidates across the region.
It was particularly meaningful to see Gubernatorial Candidate Ryan Fazio [ [link removed] ] attend the event, introduce Justin and stand alongside him.

Ryan’s presence demonstrated the importance of supporting strong down-ballot candidates and building a team that can advocate for Connecticut families at every level of government.
As the Republican endorsed candidate for US Congress (CT-04), I was honored to be invited to attend as well and show my support for Justin, talk about the intersection of local and federal issues. It was great to see a party that is united.
Too often, politics is viewed through a national lens, but real change begins locally. The decisions made in Hartford affect our taxes, our schools, our energy bills, our housing costs, and our quality of life. State elections have federal consequences, and federal policies have local impacts. Everything is connected.
That is why supporting candidates up and down the ballot matters.
Whether someone is running for State Senate in Norwalk and Darien, State Representative in Greenwich, Governor of Connecticut, or Congress, we all have a role to play in building a better future for our communities. And most of these candidates are talking and working together.
The appearance of Ryan Fazio at Perry’s kickoff sent an important message: Republicans are working together. We understand that success requires building a bench of leaders who are willing to challenge the status quo and offer voters meaningful alternatives.
A Choice for Connecticut
Justin Perry’s campaign is ultimately about more than one district.
It is about whether Connecticut continues down a path of higher taxes, higher energy costs, greater government control, and declining affordability—or whether voters choose a new direction focused on accountability, opportunity, local control, and economic growth.
After more than two decades of the same representation, the people of Norwalk and Darien finally have a choice.
Justin Perry has my full support, and I hope he earns yours as well.
If Connecticut is going to move in a new direction, it will happen because citizens decide to become part of the solution rather than simply accept the status quo. Some people run for office. Others volunteer, donate, host events, knock on doors, make phone calls, or simply talk to their neighbors.
Every one of those actions matters.
