** There’s still plenty to enjoy during Better Transport Week
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Supporter
We’re halfway through Better Transport Week ([link removed]) 2026 and there’s still lots to get involved in.
If you're travelling by train this week why not enter one of our Better Transport Week photo competitions on social media?
Post a photo of a scenic view from your train window and you could win a £100 rail voucher. Together with Community Rail Network (through their Scenic Rail Britain campaign ([link removed]) ) we're asking people to take a snap (or dig one out from a past trip) and post on BlueSky ([link removed]) , Instagram ([link removed]) or X ([link removed]) with the hashtag #scenicrailview.
Prefer a view from the bar? Our partners at CAMRA are running a railway pub themed competition on Facebook ([link removed]) and Instagram ([link removed]) . Simply post a photo of your favourite railway station pub and tag us and @campaignforrealale, with the hashtags #BestPubStationPint and #BetterTransportWeek, to be in with a chance of winning a box of beer.
And if social media isn’t your thing, you can still get involved via our website, with chances to win Eurostar tickets or a transport themed book bundle!

** Going the extra 600 miles
------------------------------------------------------------
We’re lucky to have such an incredible community of supporters - people who are always willing to go the extra mile. And in George’s case, that’s an extra 600 miles!
During Better Transport Week, George is aiming to set a new world record by travelling from John O’Groats to Land’s End in under 24 hours using only public transport.
It’s an ambitious challenge that shows just what’s possible when we invest in better buses and trains.
You can follow George’s progress and show your support ([link removed]) on his fundraising page.

** Can we go even further this year?
------------------------------------------------------------
Last year, with support from BetterPoints ([link removed]) , you helped make an incredible difference during Better Transport Week logging 303,390 active and sustainable journeys, covering 530,390 miles, and saving 115 tonnes of CO2.
This year, can we beat it?
By tracking your journeys on the BetterPoints app, you can see just how much carbon you’re saving in real time - whether you’re walking, cycling, or hopping on public transport.
It’s a simple, fun way to make a difference and you could also be in with a chance to win one of four daily prizes throughout the week.
Simply download the BetterPoints app for Android ([link removed]) or iPhone ([link removed]) and log your journeys for a chance to win. Enter the code btw2026 when you register (or tap Menu then Add code if you already have the app) to enter the daily draws.
** Will we see you on Friday?
------------------------------------------------------------
Are you joining us in London this Friday for the Better Transport Conference, sponsored by AtkinsRéalis? If so, we can’t wait to see you there!
If you haven’t booked yet, there’s still time to grab your free ticket and be part of the conversation on the future of transport.
This year’s sessions include:
* Moving together: can you take the politics out of transport?
* Rail reform that delivers for passengers: from legislation to integrated operation
* Devolution and delivery: powering local transport
* Better buses everywhere: funding, franchising and the bus infrastructure revolution
* Transport that changes lives: what communities want.
We’re also delighted to welcome Rail Minister Lord Peter Hendy, who will deliver our keynote address.

We'll be in touch again at the weekend for our final Better Transport Week update, until then, happy travels!
