Thanks, Californians, for watching Sacramento with us, in the tough year of 2020. With just a few days left in the legislative session, LOTS can go wrong.
First, please donate generously to Livable California. We’re grassroots, we’re communicating across vast regions, and we have basic costs against truly huge developer and tech money.
We urge you now, today: Oppose SB 1120, the rotten apple of 2020. It will harm your thriving, single-family street with senseless demolition and construction of 4 unaffordable houses where one house stands now. Call YOUR ASSEMBLYMEMBER HERE, and send an anti-SB 1120 LETTER HERE:
Oppose AB 725, a twin to SB 1120. It will harm your stable, thriving, single-family street about 2-3 years from now, a sleeper bill that comes with a nasty punch. CALL YOUR STATE SENATOR HERE, leave strong opposition points FOUND HERE.
Oppose SB 1085. We wanted to like the amendments. But this “affordable housing” bill is a mess: Huge luxury projects with a MISERLY number of affordable units required. Why? CALL YOUR ASSEMBLY MEMBER HERE, leave strong opposition points FOUND HERE.
Oppose AB 2345, the twin to SB 1085. It allows enormous luxury developments without local review. Again, with a MISERLY number of affordable units inside. Why? CALL YOUR ASSEMBLY MEMBER HERE, leave strong opposition points FOUND HERE.
We urge you to back two smart housing bills not driven by vast developer cash. A relief!
Support SB 1299, Portantino, the one bill that addresses empty storefronts and economic downturn and REWARDS cities who replace idled buildings with housing!! CALL YOUR ASSEMBLY MEMBER HERE, and send an SB 1299 support LETTER HERE.
Support AB 168, a bill that protects tribal resources from the hands of state Sen. Scott Wiener. CALL YOUR SENATE MEMBER HERE, leaving positive talking points FOUND HERE.
This above Action List will soon be on our Facebook page HERE, for sharing.
Grab a cup of coffee, get on the laptop, and join us across the miles. Please get it done, folks!
Livable California is a non-profit statewide group of community leaders, activists and local elected officials. We believe in local answers to the housing affordability crisis. Our robust fight requires trips to Sacramento & a lobbyist going toe-to-toe with power. Please donate generously to LivableCalifornia.org here.
