Friends --

Almost all of the COVID relief from March has now expired.

It has been three months since the House has passed the HEROES Act to extend and expand relief. While so many of us are stepping up to help our friends, our family, and our neighbors, Senate Republicans have done nothing.

They've refused to give another round of direct cash to the millions of Americans barely staying afloat. They've refused to keep enhanced unemployment benefits for the tens of millions of people out of work. They've refused to support our state and local governments, many of which are facing bankruptcy due to the devastating effect COVID-19 has had on local commerce.

The HEROES Act proposes $1 trillion in relief to state and local governments. The Senate's counter-proposal? Not a single cent. Where is the good-faith in that?

To come back with zero dollars is to completely ignore the harsh realities so many folks are facing across the country and the need to urgently provide meaningful relief.

If one thing has been made crystal clear throughout this pandemic, it's that who we elect to office truly matters -- especially in times of crisis.

Free and fair elections are essential for the well-being of our democracy. And the current administration is openly attacking our right to vote. President Trump has admitted he's blocking support for the Post Office to stop mail-in voting.

Right now, I'm in Washington to vote on critical legislation to protect the Postal Service and our democracy from these attacks.

Please add your voice to this fight by signing our petition here demanding Congress save the Postal Service.

Today, I toured Golden Harvest Farms & Harvest Spirits in Valatie to learn more about how apple growers & distillers adjusted to the pandemic. Harvest Spirits made hand sanitizer from apples earlier this year, & I appreciate the opportunity to hear about their experience.
Small businesses are essential to the fabric of our communities in #NY19. I connected with Tom and Sarah of @ChathamBrewing , where I held one of my Columbia County town halls last year, to discuss their experience of running the brewery during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our local farmers were already facing a difficult farm economy, made worse by the global pandemic. I’ve introduced legislation including the Helping America’s Farmers Act, to give our farmers the tools needed to weather this pandemic.
Really glad to see our community and the passionate folks at @SUNY_Delhi come together to support our young people facing unforeseen costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As we close out #NationalFarmersMarketWeek, I stopped by the Millbrook Farmers Market in Dutchess County today. Great to meet with and support our local producers here in #NY19.
Great joining Patrick Clancy and Erika Andersen, owners of Great Life Brewing in Kingston, for a conversation about how their business is adjusting during #COVID19. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy & I’ll keep working to make sure they have the support they need.
This afternoon, I stopped by a new small business in #NY19, @KingstonBread . Great to see a new space from the owners of Rough Draft and learn more about how small business owners are managing through the COVID pandemic and reopening.
