Fellow New Mexicans,

Donald Trump has been hard at work trying to diminish voter confidence in mail-in voting. Not only has he been attacking USPS at every corner, but he’s also spreading misinformation in an effort to undermine our electoral process.

I know how critical mail-in voting is this year amidst the pandemic. That is why I’m doing everything I can as Secretary of State to make the process accessible, easy, and most importantly, SAFE for every New Mexican.

In fact, I just recently received a letter directly from the Postal Service confirming, “Your voters should have sufficient time to receive, complete, and return their ballots by the state’s deadline.”

Don’t let Trump deter you from casting your ballot! His voter suppression scare tactics will not work in New Mexico.

Right now, you can already complete your absentee ballot application via mail with your county clerk’s office. And soon, our website portal will be available so that you can apply for an absentee ballot directly online.

You can trust that officials like me, as well as election administrators around the state, are prepared for a safe and secure mail-in voting process. I encourage you to read more about your alternatives to in-person voting by checking out NMVote.org.
