Please join us for a virtual panel discussion that reflects on Hurricane Katrina fifteen years later. The discussion will focus on the past, present and future — the Gulf Coast’s landscape before Katrina, what it looks like currently and what we need to do to rebuild land and protect our communities for generations to come.

Our panel will be moderated by Greater New Orleans, Inc. President Michael Hecht, and our panelists are:

  • Andy Horowitz, Tulane University professor and author of Katrina 15, 1915-2015
  • Bren Haase, Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority
  • Barbara Johnson, president of The Great Delta Tours
  • Angela Chalk, founder and executive director of Healthy Community Services
  • Charles Allen, Audubon Louisiana's director of community engagement

Restore the Mississippi River Delta, a coalition of conservation, policy, science and outreach experts from Environmental Defense Fund, National Audubon Society, National Wildlife Federation, Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana and Pontchartrain Conservancy, is hosting this discussion.
