Presents Its 2019 Hero of the Taxpayer Award
to Andy Caldwell
CCTA is pleased to recognize Andy Caldwell for his constant support of Proposition 13 and for his many years of fighting for the forgotten taxpayer! He is an outspoken advocate for businesses that provide jobs for our local economy and is in opposition to the ever-increasing government regulations and taxes affecting those businesses.
Caldwell is best known as Executive Director of COLAB Santa Barbara (Coalition of Labor, Agriculture and Business), and serving as a government watchdog. Not only did Caldwell help to start COLAB Santa Barbara in 1991 as its founding Executive Director, he also served as the interim executive director for COLAB SLO in its formation period and helped with the start of COLAB organizations in Ventura and Imperial Counties.
Caldwell has the only daily radio talk show that covers the entire Central Coast. It airs from 3pm to 5 pm on AM 1440 Santa Maria, FM 98.5 San Luis Obispo and AM 1290 Santa Barbara-Ventura. Presently Caldwell is an opinion writer for the Santa Barbara News Press and was a former guest columnist for the Santa Maria Times for 17 years.
Andy Caldwell's community awards and recognitions are numerous:
