Johh,
Thirty years ago today, the National Voter Registration Act was signed into law. It made it easier than ever before for people to register to vote, including while getting a driver's license or updating their information at government agencies.
For democracy to work, voting needs to be simple and accessible. Every American should be able to vote without confusion, endless paperwork, or unnecessary hoops getting in the way.
But right now, the Trump administration is pushing voting accessibility in the opposite direction.
Across the country, we're seeing stricter voter ID laws, voter roll purges that remove eligible voters, fewer polling locations in many Black and brown communities, attacks on mail-in voting, and new proposals designed to make registering harder than it needs to be.
Instead of making it easier for people to participate in our democracy, MAGA Republicans keep trying to put up barriers. And they're not even trying to hide it.
Too many people fought too hard for the right to vote for us to quietly accept moving backward. Diana refuses to stand by while politicians chip away at something so fundamental, because protecting democracy means protecting every eligible voter's right to make their voice heard.
If you agree it should be easy for people to participate in our democracy, add your name to Diana's petition today. And here in Colorado, make a plan to vote for Diana by June 30—because protecting voting rights starts with electing leaders who will actually fight for them. >> [link removed]
Thank you,
