Seven Fifty Daily notes that there has been a shift during the pandemic as small brewers have been producing beers with longer shelf lives and less expensive ingredients, which means more lagers and fewer IPAs. Lester Jones, the chief economist for the National Beer Wholesalers Association, also thinks that consumers are reaching for beers that feel safe. “Wheat ales, pale and amber ales and amber or dark lagers were are all trending slightly down pre-COVID-19 and are now all up double digits,” he said in late June. “This is representative of the ‘return to core’ we’ve been seeing.”

In their local news outlet, Pennsylvania-based Wilsbach Distributors is being highlighted as a “Hometown Hero” for helping keep firefighters hydrated. Wilsbach Distributors, along with Anheuser-Busch, delivered 490 cases of canned water to Liberty Hose Fire Company in Williamstown.

Walmart's Winemakers Selection going for $5 a bottle

When Walmart first launched its Winemakers Selection private label wine brand in 2018, the company's senior wine buyer said that the wines, which ranged in price from $10 to $15, "drink like a $30 to $40 bottle of wine." The retailer has relaunched its private label wine in about 2,600 stores, featuring a new label, a pared-down assortment and a $5 price point.
