In the United States, everyone should have a real chance not just to get by, but to thrive.

You should be able to work hard and still feel like you can build a good life, pay the bills, afford healthcare, and raise your family without constantly wondering what happens if one thing goes wrong. That’s what I’m fighting for.

But right now, Donald Trump and the Congressional Republicans have made clear that their priorities involve an illegal war in Iran, funding a rogue ICE agency, creating a Justice Department fund for Trump allies, and building a ballroom.

Gas prices are skyrocketing along with grocery bills, rent, and healthcare. Trump and his MAGA allies are making life more expensive, while the people at the top keep getting richer. That makes me angry, because I know who pays the price. It's the parent skipping their own doctor's appointment to cover their kid's expenses. The senior trying to stretch a prescription a little longer to save money. The family working hard every single day and still feeling like they can't get ahead.

People deserve the chance to breathe a little. To feel secure, know that if they work hard, they're not one emergency away from everything falling apart. That's the country I'm fighting for in Congress and I'm running for re-election to keep working toward that vision.

But right now, we're coming up on our May mid-month fundraising deadline and we're still short of where we need to be.
