Last week, the Southern Poverty Law Center launched its new Power Hour program, giving supporters like you the ability to take action in support of the SPLC’s voting rights initiatives in our priority states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Last Thursday, SPLC supporters worked with our simple-to-use virtual phone bank platform to call thousands of Alabama voters to alert them to new, expanded absentee ballot access. This week’s SPLC Power Hour is focusing on Georgia.
Georgia continues to be at the forefront of the battle for voting rights in 2020. Even counting the nearly 800,000 new voter registrations from Black Georgians since 2016, there remain hundreds of thousands of eligible-but-unregistered people of color in the state.
This Thursday, SPLC supporters will be contacting likely unregistered voters of color in Georgia to share information on how they can register to vote in the way most convenient for them.
Using your own phone in your own home, our virtual phone bank will provide you with a complete script, the names and phone numbers of voters, and easy-to-follow instructions to record the results of your conversation.
Register below to join SPLC supporters from across the country in expanding the pool of registered voters in Georgia.
