Welcome to another edition of FT Now! Big news this week on the 2020
presidential campaign front: Joe Biden selected far-left Sen. Kamala
Harris as his vice presidential running mate. Despite attempts to paint
her as a middle-of-the-road moderate, Harris' record in the Senate
does not lie. Scroll down to see what we mean. Vermonters are also
facing their own radical candidate in Democrat David Zuckerman, who's
vying to replace Gov. Phil Scott this November. And in North Carolina,
Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper has been caught red-handed stacking the state
Election Board with partisan hacks and campaign donors. Is it really
that hard to not inject partisan politics where they don't belong?

The Zuckerman Manifesto: Meet Democrats' Fringe Candidate In Vermont
Governor's Race

What Happened:

This week, Vermont Democrats nominated far-left David Zuckerman to
challenge GOP Gov. Phil Scott in November. Zuckerman's record,
however, is full of fringe stances that include tax hikes,
anti-vaccination views, and disparaging comments about law enforcement
and the military - even after 9/11.

Why You Should Care:

The choice in Vermont this fall couldn't be more clear: a consensus
builder like Gov. Phill Scott - or a fringe candidate like David
Zuckerman who says things like it makes him "cringe" that Immigration
and Customs Enforcement (ICE) receives funding and is considered a
"hero" by the "anti-vaxx" movement.

What Happens Next:

Zuckerman, no doubt, will try to hide his far-left record from Vermont
voters.

Governor Cooper Stacked Board of Elections With Blatantly Partisan,
Incompetent Employees

What Happened:

It looks like North Carolina Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper has consistently
abused his appointment power to stack the state Board of Elections with
campaign donors and partisan operatives. What's more, three of them
have already been forced to resign in disgrace.

Why You Should Care:

One appointee donated $17,000 to Cooper's political campaigns over the
years, and had to resign after being accused of violating state law. If
Gov. Cooper can't be trusted to keep the Election Board non-partisan
and free of corruption, does he really deserve a second term? We are
talking about free and fair elections, here.

What Happens Next:

One thing is for sure: North Carolinians won't be able to count on Roy
Cooper.

Kamala Harris Scored As Most Liberal Senator in 2019

What Happened:

Joe Biden officially selected Sen. Kamala Harris as his vice
presidential running mate this week. Turns out she's not the
"moderate" Democrats want you to think she is.

Why You Should Care:

Just one year ago - in 2019 - Harris was ranked as the most liberal
senator in Washington - more libeeral than even Sens. Elizabeth Warren
and self-described socialist Bernie Sanders. Believe it.

What Happens Next:

As Election Day approaches, the Biden-Harris campaign will pull out all
the stops to convince Americans they're the best path forward. But
Harris' far-left record is sure to turn off voters.
