John -- Schools in several states opened their doors this week, at least 2,400 students and school staffers have already been infected with Covid-19 or sent into isolation due to exposure. Still, the administration is standing by its threat to yank funding from schools that don’t conduct in-person classes.

Instead of holding the administration accountable for its overreaching threats, the Senate announced Thursday that it’s adjourned through Labor Day - despite its failure to reach an agreement on a Covid relief package before heading home. Meanwhile, 28 million Americans are still unemployed, 40 million face eviction, and unemployment insurance has been cut in half.

The need to gain control of the Senate has never been more urgent.

We can flip this seat, but only if we have the resources to maintain a fierce campaign against Shelley Moore Capito. Right now, we’re $26,264 short of meeting our fundraising goals for August. If you’re able, can you chip in now and help me win this seat? [[link removed]]

John, most Americans literally can’t afford more of the same from privileged, corporate-bankrolled senators like Shelley Moore Capito. And we can’t afford for legislation to die on Mitch McConnell’s desk. We have to stop this insanity.

We’ve already waited too long for the truly representative leadership we need and deserve - leadership dictated by the people, not by corporations.

I’m ready to stand and fight for West Virginia and people across the country. Can I count on you to stand and fight with me?

Let’s make it happen.

Paula Jean
