Anti-police rhetoric is on the rise, leading me to write an op-ed defending our law enforcement officers. Speaker Pelosi’s recently passed partisan anti-police bill encourages personal lawsuits against police officers. With an opioid epidemic in West Virginia, we need more support for police officers.

I’m working to secure funding for small businesses dealing with the economic fallout from COVID-19 and to help schools reopen safely. I hosted a town hall to address your concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic - Whether its jobs or health, I am here for you.
I co-sponsored the SAFE Kids Act, which received bipartisan support and aims to protect children from the opioid epidemic by educating them about the dangers of illegal drugs. Lastly, I was honored to receive the Freedom Fighter award ([link removed]) given to representatives who support free-market policies.

A WWII veteran from Beckley, WV just celebrated his 100th birthday ([link removed]) . Cecil Ward served for three years in the Army on different islands and even fought in the Battle of the Bulge. What’s his secret? Staying positive. Happy Birthday to Cecil Ward, a true American patriot.
