Dear John, What does it take to Create an Economy that Works for All? The American Sustainable Business Council, representing more than 200,000 businesses committed to the triple bottom line of people, planet and profits, has led a working group of 34 partners focused on that effort. They will present their findings in a webinar on Tuesday, August 18, at 1 PM EST, during the Democratic National Convention. Our Working Group has identified the most important business-related public policy initiatives required to Create an Economy that Works for All. Contributors of the working group have highlighted the potency of capitalism as a dynamic force, however, challenges such as income inequality, crumbling infrastructure, market consolidation, climate change, underinvestment, and the financialization of America’s economy pose serious threats to our continued global leadership and social stability. Many across the country view our current capitalist system as rigged and not working for them. Presenters will highlight some of the crucial sections of the working group’s aim to "Create an Economic System that Works for All” including race and equity, corporate governance, healthcare, and the environment.
