Guinness announced as the official beer of Notre Dame football

After decades of unofficially being the beer of Notre Dame football, Guinness announced a formal partnership with the university to be the official beer of Notre Dame football starting in 2020. “While this may not be the launch moment we planned for, when a partnership nearly two centuries in the making comes together, it’s a reminder that history’s best teams are built over time… Our seven-year partnership will unite two Irish institutions and bring to life new traditions,” the company said in a release.

New beer to support those who are blind, visually impaired

West Side Brewing in Ohio is teaming up with the Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired (CABVI) to bring attention to the cause with a special beer called Braille Ale. They used special equipment from Germany to print Braille onto the beer can to increase accessibility so those who are blind and visually impaired can read the label.

US weekly jobless claims fall to 963,000

The total first-time claims for unemployment insurance last week were 963,000. It fell below 1 million for the first time since March 21 in a sign that the labor market is continuing its recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. That represented a decline of 228,000 from the previous week’s total.
