Hi there,

Utilities are already charging us more in anticipation of data centers that aren’t even built yet. 

And the kicker is, utilities keep trying to raise rates!¹

That’s just one of the reasons why we’re pushing so hard for the State Senate to pass the Data Center Ratepayer Protection Bill. 

In addition to key protections against astronomical rate increases, this bill would require that data centers be powered by a significant portion of new, clean energy and would put protections in place to help prevent blackouts. 

Believe me, I need you in on this. We’re up against an anti-environment-controlled State Senate. But I know that with your help we can get this done. 

No one wants a huge, loud, energy sucking data center a few feet from their home, school, or daycare. There is massive public support for guardrails on data centers – we just need to win the votes of a few Republican state senators to get this passed. 

Take a minute and send a message to Senator Nikil Saval  urging them to support meaningful guardrails on data centers! 

Pennsylvania has powered this country for hundreds of years.

And we know what happens when industries move faster than the protections meant to regulate them.

This time, we have a chance to get it right.

We’re going all in to put reforms in place on data centers which would: 

✔ Require that large data centers be powered by a significant amount of new, in-state clean energy sources

✔ Help prevent data centers from causing blackouts

✔ Protect families and small businesses from paying for connecting AI data centers to the grid

This is how we can start to protect families and communities before it’s too late.

I’m optimistic we can get this bill passed in the State Senate. It already gained the support of Republicans in the State House because they heard loud and clear from their constituents. We can win the support of a few Senate Republicans if they hear from their constituents right now.

Together, we can ensure that data centers don’t jack up our power bills or create worse pollution problems that harm our communities.

We don’t oppose a ban on data centers, but we’ve decided that we would do more good by focusing our limited resources on putting protections in place so that Pennsylvania families aren’t harmed by data centers.
