Here in Oregon, we've been voting by mail for twenty years. And it's pretty common across the country--about a quarter of voters nationwide voted by mail for president in 2016.

But that hasn't stopped Donald Trump from making wild accusations about voting by mail, that it enables fraud or is somehow "dangerous".

For the record, here's the fact check on Trump's claim about vote-by-mail fraud: According to the Brennan Center for Justice, Oregon has "sent out more than 100 million mail-in ballots since 2000, and documented only about a dozen cases of proven fraud." That's right, just about one case of fraud for every 10 million votes cast.

Now, according to news reports, Trump's not content to just spout falsehoods, he's now looking to actively undermine our safe, secure, vote-by-mail system. This is voter suppression, plain and simple.

But here's where you come in. I need you to join the hundreds of thousands of Americans who are speaking out and demanding that the US Senate provide funds to make safe and secure vote-by-mail available to every single voter that wants to vote by mail. The House of Representatives has already passed this legislation, it's time for the Senate to step up.

Speak out. Get loud. I'll carry your voice with me to the Capitol, and make sure you're heard. We cannot let Donald Trump undermine Americans' right to vote by crippling the Postal Service.

We're going to protect vote by mail. We're going to protect our democracy. And we're going to get America back on track.

Onward!

Jeff
