Dear John, 

It’s a new day at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research. From our fresh, new look to our renewed focus and energy around amplifying the issues that matter most to working women, their families and communities in the public sphere and in the halls of power—this is a moment built for us. 

Let’s be honest—change isn’t happening fast enough. The pay gap has only closed by about .20 cents since 1960, women still only hold a fraction of the seats in congress and across the country, and working mothers still struggle with caretaking demands and juggling their careers. It’s time to accelerate. It’s time to win!

The pandemic and its resulting fallout has shown us that many of our systems—healthcare, the economy, and the care system—were not working for most Americans, especially those on the margins of our society. Now is the time to imagine systems that not only meet the needs of women and families, but set them on a path to full economic security and prosperity. 

Over the next few weeks, you will learn more about our new strategy, our new philanthropic partners and how you might be able to join us in building a more just and equitable future for all. 

To be sure, this is our moment and we don’t plan to let it slip away.
