Hi Friend —
I was shocked when I learned this: less than 3% of Pennsylvania’s electricity comes from renewable energy.
Seriously, three percent?!?
That’s waaaaaay behind other top energy-producing states and we’re paying for it.
Texas — the number one energy producer — gets about 32% of its power from renewables. Florida produces about as much energy as Pennsylvania, and even they get around 10% from renewable sources.
So, what’s the difference?
Pennsylvania went all in on gas, plus coal and nuclear, while nearly every other state invested in lower-cost solar and wind. The cost of gas, coal, and nuclear has gone up, while renewables have gotten cheaper year after year.
This one decision means that we’re missing out on low-cost energy that’s helping keep electricity bills lower in other states.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. We want to see renewable energy increase from 3% to at least 35%.
More renewable energy on our grid would lower electricity bills! Plus it would create good-paying jobs that could revitalize our communities.
This change is common sense – but we need your help to make it happen. We need our members' full support if we’re going to get it fully passed through our divided legislature.
So we’re asking just one question:
Do you support increasing renewable energy in Pennsylvania to 35% by 2035?
YES: [link removed]
NO: [link removed]
Together, we can build a future with lower bills, healthier communities, and more opportunity for everyone.
Thanks for taking action,
