Yesterday, we all saw the unhinged post from Donald Trump:

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.”

He may have backed off for now, but what Trump said still matters. Because no president of the United States should speak so casually about mass death. No president should threaten civilians with this kind of reckless language. And no one should shrug it off as normal.

Becca Balint said it plainly: “These are the ramblings of a president who has completely lost control. To speak of war crimes so casually is disgusting and extremely dangerous.”

And she’s right.

That post was a reminder of how reckless Trump is and how dangerous it is that he holds this kind of power.
