Last week, we saw something unprecedented: a sitting president attended oral arguments at the Supreme Court in what can only be described as an attempt to loom over the process and intimidate the justices.

But Johh, let's be clear: birthright citizenship isn't up for debate.

The Constitution does not bend to whoever shows up in the room. And it could not be clearer:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States…"

That's it.

There are no loopholes.

And there is no reinterpretation because Donald Trump wants to score political points and marginalize an entire group of people.

Birthright citizenship is a cornerstone of our Constitution. This is nothing but a racist attempt to rewrite the rules of citizenship and go around the Constitution when it doesn't produce the outcome Trump wants.

We cannot let this blatant attempt to undermine our Constitution go unchecked. This right belongs to the people — not to any one president, and not to any one political agenda.
