Hi John,
“The current pace of human-caused carbon emissions is increasingly likely to trigger irreversible damage to the planet.”
That’s a quote from a recent Washington Post article that analyzed the findings of a new study -- one that predicts global temperatures could rise by as much as 8 degrees Fahrenheit within the next few decades. To prevent a full-fledged ecological disaster, we need to act now.
But the kind of urgent solution our country needs has been obstructed by the religious right for years. Take the example of Republican Congressman Tim Walberg, who told his voters simply: “I’m confident that, if there’s a real problem, [God] can take care of it.”
We don’t share Rep. Walberg’s confidence -- but apparently enough of our leadership does. If we want to survive as a species, we can’t let this kind of delusional rhetoric continue. That’s why we need to make our voices louder than theirs -- if you think climate change is a “real problem,” please, tell us now:
Are you concerned about the threat of climate change?
Thank you for your input -- we couldn’t do the work we do without you.
