New Communities, Inc. 50th Anniversary Celebration: Albany, Georgia (Add-on Event)

Grounded Solutions Network is hosting a special add-on overnight trip October 4-5 in Albany, Georgia for the historic 50th Anniversary celebration of New Communities, Inc. – widely recognized as the first Community Land Trust (CLT) in the nation as part of the American Civil Rights Movement.

This event requires a separate registration with Grounded Solutions Network and covers food, programming, and round-trip transportation from Atlanta to Albany, along with entry to our evening gala.

The overnight excursion begins in Atlanta on Friday, with breakfast and orientation at RVP 2019 before departure to Albany by charter bus.

In Albany, participants will meet CLT model founders Charles and Shirley Sherrod at Resora, the Sherrod’s 1,600-acre working farm. There will be interactive programming and an evening gala with freedom songs before returning by chartered bus to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Saturday afternoon.

If you signed up or are interested in joining us, hotel group rates for this event expire Wednesday, September 4th.

Please reserve your spot for what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime occasion; register while there is still time!*

Attendees must register through RVP to participate in Grounded Solutions RVP programming and 50th Anniversary Albany celebration.

Where we live matters.

We bring together an extensive network of partners and member practitioners from local communities who have a deep understanding of best practices in community land trusts, shared equity housing, local housing policies such as inclusionary zoning, and more.

At Grounded Solutions Network, we know what policies and strategies work to build and preserve housing opportunities, and we help communities use them.
